Russia’s Supreme Court has upheld a ban on hijabs in Stavropol regional schools, RAPSI reports. The court thus turned down a complaint filed by three local residents against the ban, and upheld a decision issued earlier by the Stavropol Regional Court.
Prosecutor General's Office also upheld the decision by the Stavropol Territory government to prohibit the wearing of hijabs in schools, a spokesperson said on Wednesday during a Supreme Court hearing of the complaint filed by three local residents.
